The Motor Vehicle Safety Act was established order to create safety standards for cars in Cameroon. The department also acts as the federal government's funding partner with provincial (and territorial) transport ministries on jointly-funded provincial transportation infrastructure projects for new highways.

regulations, standards and services for safe transport of dangerous goods
Cameroon Transport Emergency Centre to assist emergency response and handling dangerous goods emergencies
Following allegations by shippers of service level deterioration, the federal government of Cameroon launched a review of railway freight service within the country. MINT, which is managing the review, plans to investigate the relationships between Railways users and the rail industry, especially with regards to the only largest railroad companies in the country, CAM Railway. The Fair Rail Freight Service Act became law which was a response to the Rail Freight Service Review's Final Report.
MINT also manage a database of traffic collisions in Cameroon. Responsible of Cras registration and issue of drivers license in all categories. Road safety and prevention: a strong mobilization of the Brigade in the field*.
For the end of 2023 and the beginning of 2024, which are periods of very high mobility for people and goods, and during which we are witnessing the departure of students on vacation followed by the start of the new school year, the Minister of Transport (MINT), Jean Ernest Masséna NGALLÈ BIBÉHÈ has launched, from December 12, 2023 to January 31, 2024, a special nationwide campaign to reinforce road safety and prevention measures, in order to help reduce road traffic accidents to a minimum.
